I was traveling back to Southend from London a while back and was on my way to the station. I whipped out my iPhone and went onto the National Rail application to check times and if there are any delays (this app really is worth the £5 in saving you trouble with delays, cancellations etc.). I found this:

Before you begin thinking, no it ain’t an edited picture or me trying to be funny. That is genuinely what was the output on the screen and what made me giggle quietly to myself. So missing 5 stations due to unforeseen events (actually, even Fenchurch Street is cancelled) will save 13 hours on a line with only two tracks with many services running within those 13 hours so it would have to wait for the earlier trains to actually get to their destinations? I see! Then it goes from being early to being 15 hours late. I think it’s worth some chuckling at

Wordpress app for the iPhone has had it’s ups and downs, more noticeably the latter. Silly problems like not being able to connect to your blog of tricks or loosing a 4,000 word post due to local drafts being a black hole can get very frustrating. You would expect more for the developers of the blogging platform, right?

Automattic have answered our cries and pleas with Wordpress 2.0. First off, I know it’s been out for a few weeks but I only noticed that it’s a whole new app in itself this evening. I was one of those who were regularly refreshing ‘App Updates’ and throwing the phone across the room due to no Wordpress being listed.

I’m sure you know full well what the app does just by reading the name, it is an external Twitter application. There are many of these in the app store, but I will take you through why this particular choice is a darn good one. Making the choice on getting the perfect Twitter app that suits you isn’t really that important, but I’m blogging about it and I feel that I should let you in on Twitterific.

Once you have the app installed and shouting at you to open it, you know Icon Factory have put a lot of effort into really making the design appeal for candy lovers. “Yeah, I’m on about you poor Vista/Windows 7 lovers that enjoy the pretty colours and icons, how productive!”, be pleased to know that this application will blind you with beautification, just like me!
